Since 1994, over 100 artists in a variety of disciplines have lived and worked at Rimbun Dahan, in residencies from 2 weeks to 12 months.

Over 30 artists were in residence for a whole year, as part of the Malaysia-Australia Visual Artist Residency (now called the Yearlong Visual Artist Residency). Many other artists from Southeast Asia, Australia and beyond, including painters, sculptors, poets, authors, performance artists, and choreographers, as well as arts managers, have also found inspiration during shorter residencies at Rimbun Dahan.
