Peruke Projects is delighted to announce its participation in TERRA II, the second edition of a group exhibition hosted across the historic buildings of the UNESCO world heritage vineyards of Beaune in Burgundy, France. The event is curated by Jenn Ellis and Emie Diamond, and produced by Milena Berman. Peruke will display Nino Sarabutra’s most recognisable work, ‘What will you leave behind?’; an installation that will fill the floor of the chapel of the Chateau de Chevignyen Valière with small porcelain skulls. Visitors are invited to walk across the installation, immersing themselves in the experience, while contemplating life in the present, mortality, life, and legacy, and to remind the viewer of the precious nature of life. The work was first created in 2012 and has been displayed in Singapore, New York, Venice, Paris, London (Peruke Projects 2022), and the Bangkok Art Biennale 2018, to name a few.
Nino Sarabutra’s art encourages self-exploration, prompting visitors to consider questions at the heart of existence; how it feels to be human, what drives their emotions, and what their position in life is. She is best known for her ceramic works and expansive installations.
Curated and hosted by Apsara Studio, TERRA II asks its carefully selected artists to respond to the concept of terroir – a sense of place. The exhibition features works by international artists across mediums, from painting to sculpture. Receiving over 200 applications worldwide, the jury has handpicked 10 artists to exhibit alongside Nino; art by Wyn-Lyn Tan, Kwamé Azure Gomez, Mariana Hahn, and more will be on view.
TERRA II will be open to the public from 18 October to 17 November 2024, by appointment only.
