Rega Ayundya Putri

Rega Ayundya Putri is a lecturer and artist that creates large-scale works consisting of intricate illustrations using ballpoint pen on paper. She describes her illustrations as a form of escapism—her way of channeling the inner turmoil in her mind, creating space to breathe and survive amidst the blows of cultural currents. Her latest artistic research addresses topics surrounding speculative fiction, where she presents images of animals in a dystopian future, shaped from environmental destruction.

Rega received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at the Bandung Institute of Technology in 2017. She has participated in a number of solo exhibitions such as ‘Phosphene’, Omni Space, Bandung (2018); ‘Debu’, Can’s Gallery, Jakarta (2020) as well as a number of group exhibitions: Asian Students and Young Artist Art Festival in Seoul, South Korea (2017); Trimatra Salihara Competition, Salihara Gallery, Jakarta (2019); and ‘Nobody Knows Their Story’, Koganecho Area Management Center, Yokohama, Japan (2023), where she participated in their arts residency program.
