Fauzul Yusri

Fauzul Yusri received his formal arts education in Fine Arts at the University Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia from 1996 to 1999. After completing his studies, he became a full time artist under the apprenticeship of Yusof Ghani, a Malaysian painter, sculptor, writer, professor and curator with a career that spans over three decades. Heavy-bodied pigments like oil paints, pumice & industrial texture paste compliment the kind of signature surface scarring, loose irreverence, and layering that have become fundamental to the structure of Fauzul’s images.

Fazul has received numerous awards in painting competitions, including the ‘Incentive Award’ from Galeri Shah Alam and ‘Jury Award’ in 2004 from Bakat Muda Sezaman. Fauzul’s artworks have shown internationally in Prague (Czech Republic), Saatchi Gallery (London, UK) in 2018, and in Seoul, South Korea. Numerous awards and accolades throughout his career have brought his artworks to be in many private, public & institutional collections including; National Arts Gallery Malaysia (KL), Central Bank of Malaysia (KL), Khazanah Nasional Bhd (KL), Aberdeen Standard (SG & KL), Maybank Finance Bhd (KL), Ilham Gallery (KL), Galeri Z (KL), Swiss Re Group (KL), Four Season Hotel (KL), Banyan Tree (KL), Andaz Hotel (SG), Foster + Partners (UK), ELSE Retreat Hotel (KL), Cicheti Group (SG), and UBS (SG).
