Dani Omar holds a Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from UiTM Shah Alam, Malaysia. He is a talented artist with a meticulous approach to aesthetics and has made a strong and positive impression with his detailed paintings of ‘Songket’.

His work forms an emotional memoir bringing physical form to the internal images constructed by the traditional fabric ‘Songket’, creating realistic images, and incorporating intentional folded structures and motives from the fabric to form a narrative. His style encompasses elements of still life and contrast between light and shadow in order to convey lightness through its folds. His artwork revolves around Malaysia’s cultural heritage and the artist’s own memories.
